If you’re looking for a dream master hair stylist, look no further. Sarah Rappolt will take care of your haircut woes. We initially met through IG (God Bless IG!) and invited me to their hair haven in SoHo.
Ion Studio is the only sustainable salon in New York City. Owners, renowned hairstylists Marco Santini and Leo Manetti use reclaimed materials to decorate the space. The ground floor has the reception desk and cutting/styling stations while the floor below houses the coloring and washing areas.
I was welcomed with open arms and a glass of Mimosa which gave me liquid courage to go with a short bob. The salon has a relaxed vibe and I knew I was in good hands as soon as I walked through the door.
After a hair consultation with Sarah, we walked down where my hair was pampered to the nines. I could have easily fallen asleep during the scalp massage – Jay worked wonders on my parched hair. They use high-quality, Davines products which also believes in sustainable beauty. They have the Davine’s manifesto up on the wall behind the reception desk as a reminder for what they stand for.
I was too scared to go short but Sarah reassured me that it was good change. Let’s just say this this is a very welcomed change and it’s safe to say that I may have found my fairy hair godmother. Not only is she a talented hairstylist, she is also an awesome human being.
Sarah spends time giving back to the community by being an active member of The Beauty Plus Network. The Beauty Plus Network is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help young women in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Learn more about this initiative here.
Thank you Sarah and Ion Studio for having me!
